My name is Shannon Herbers and I have lived in Beaverton, Oregon for 30+ years. I am married and we have two adult sons. I have been helping senior clients since 2011. I am trustworthy, friendly, loyal, and dedicated to the people I serve.

I was originally inspired to start my senior care business because of my grandmother, to support people who wanted to continue living independently by offering helpful services through Smart Services for Seniors.

Although my grandmother passed away in 2017, she had lived in her own home for 57 years and she did not particularly want to live anywhere else. My mother worried that all of her mother’s needs were not being met. Since my mom lives here in Oregon and my grandmother lived in Texas, there were limits to what my mother could do for my grandmother. My mother had expressed that she needed someone in my grandmother’s town who could drop in on my grandmother each week to help her around her home, play cards with her, and check to see if she had everything she needed. My grandmother had a housekeeping service and Meals on Wheels delivered three times each week, but she still could have used someone to take her places, help her out around her home, and be a companion. Although she had a car and a driver’s license, she did not get out all that much. I wished I could have been her personal assistant.

Because I became aware of my grandmother's need for extra help, I established my business here in Beaverton to assist other seniors who may have a similar situation and who need occasional help to continue an independent lifestyle. I also provide companion services for clients who live in senior/assisted living communities.
